Wokingham Tweetup an Informal Social Meetup
The Wokingham Tweetup, also called Tweetupwoky, gives local Twitter users an opportunity to meet people they follow on Twitter in an informal and social environment. Attending a Tweetup is a little different that you may already know a little or a lot about other attendees, if you are following them and they may be following you.
Tweetupwoky is an informal social meet up, where Twitter users:
- share news and views
- meet new people and make connections and friends
- find a recommended local supplier or service
- promote their business, community group, charity or event
The aim is to make Tweetupwoky an inclusive social community group to all Wokingham Twitter users.
How often is the tweetup
Tweetupwoky is held every other month from 7.00-9.00pm at The Broad Street Tavern Pub in Wokingham.
The format is informal chat on arrival until 7.30pm, then its brief group introductions with a maximum of two minutes per person if you wish to share something specific with the group (this is optional, not compulsory!) and the rest of the evening for more social chatter.

Do I have to stay all evening?
It is important to be around for the introductions if you specifically are coming to share information with other attendees. But otherwise no you are free to arrive and leave when you wish.
What does it cost to attend?
It is FREE to attend, all you need do is bring money to buy yourself a drink or whatever takes your fancy.
Do I qualify?
As long as you are an active Tweeter and live or work in Wokingham or surrounding area.
Who organises Tweetupwoky?
Tweetupwoky is run by Melanie Mackie of Scarletta Media.

In between tweetup’s the Twitter page for Tweetupwoky will be put to good use with your up-dates. If you have a business, event or information to share with the local community, the Twitter @tweetupwoky page will share and promote your tweets. This is available to those who attend tweetupwoky.
